Routine cleaning and regular disinfection are practices acknowledged to reduce the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

In this regard, the Institute of Weed Science, Entomology and Plant Pathology (IWEP), through its UPLB Termite Program, initiated a series of disinfection of dormitories inside the campus. Units of Men’s Residence Hall (Men’s Dorm) were disinfected on March 25. It was proceeded by another batch of disinfection on March 27 in Makiling Residence Hall (MAREHA), New Forestry Residence Hall (New FOREHA) and other houses under the UPLB Housing Office (UHO).

Moreover, IWEP also initiated disinfection of vehicles which catered the sending home of stranded UPLB students to NCR, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Tuguegarao and nearby provinces. This was in line with the UPLB’s Oplan Hatid, Oplan Sundo.

The above efforts were in coordination with UHO, Office of the Student Affairs and Office of the Chancellor.

In this time of crisis, IWEP is one with you. Let us continue to support one another in defeating this coronavirus. We are all in this together.
